Concrete Block Honing.

Honed blocks are blocks that have had their face ground off exposing the aggregates in the product resulting in a subtle matt like finish.

Block honing also called polished concrete blocks, uses the same process as concrete grinding and polishing with smaller handheld grinders.  The grinding process removes the surface of the blocks much like polished concrete floors and displays what stone is found within. The amount displayed often depends on the quality of your blocks.

A waterproofing system is often applied to avoid efflorescence a white crystalline deposit where moisture has penetrated the block and is seeping out causing unsightly white weeping blocks. This system uses products with multiple coats of each. A final finishing sealant is applied to protect and enhance the finished look. This is a popular treatment for concrete blocks, it creates a natural attractive look for interior and exterior feature walls.

This process can also be applied to concrete tilt slab panels, or large concrete walls or fence areas.

Concrete block honing is a cost effective treatment to plastering and painting, and provides an attractive elegant appearance.
